Throughout the tour, knowledgeable guides will enrich your experience with fascinating insights into the region's history, culture, and ecology, ensuring that this is not just a trip, but a truly transformative adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO)

Your guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to the lodge. Depending on arrival time you can do an optional activity.

Day 2: Arusha

Today you will go on a Game drive in Arusha National Park. This small park, with its incredibly diverse landscape, is dominated by Tanzania's second-highest mountain, Mount Meru (4,566 m), and its enormous horseshoe-shaped crater. Numerous buffalo, giraffes, waterbuck, zebras, warthogs, various antelope species, and other animals inhabit the fascinating landscape of savannah and mountain forest, lakes, waterfalls, and volcanic craters. The forests provide a habitat for the impressive black-and-white colobus monkeys. Seasonally, flocks of flamingos gather at the Momella Lakes.

Day 3: Dluluti Volcanic Lake

In the morning, you'll explore the idyllic Duluti Volcanic Lake, nestled within a forest reserve, by  canoe. You might spot dozens of bird species. Nile monitors, with their prehistoric appearance, often bask on the shore. Afterwards, you'll travel to your overnight camp. Accompanied by a Maasai guide, you'll hike through the savanna and learn how the Maasai use various plants in daily life and for medicinal purposes.

Day 4: Maasai

Early in the morning, you will visit the nearby Maasai village of Esilalei. From a respectful distance, you will witness the village awakening to a new day. Your guide will explain the customs, traditions, and way of life of the Maasai.

A dusty track along the Great Rift Valley leads you to Lake Natron. The stark landscape is dominated by the fascinating cone of the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai. Hike to the waterfall in the Engare Sero River gorge. In the evening, an excursion to the shores of Lake Natron, a breeding ground for thousands of flamingos, awaits.

Day 5: Great Rift Valley

Steep switchbacks lead up the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley into the highlands, offering spectacular views back down into the rift valley and across the lake. Remote tracks then take you to the northern Serengeti, which you will explore on your first game drive in the afternoon.

Days 6 & 7 : Serengeti

The vast savannas of the Serengeti are a paradise for grazing animals. On their annual Great migration, tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes traverse this globally unique ecosystem. Lions and hyenas follow the herds in search of prey. On game drives in the park, you will very likely also see elephants, buffalo, giraffes, baboons, ostriches, and many other animals, and with a bit of luck, perhaps even cheetahs hunting or a leopard, which likes to spend the daylight hours in the branches of a tree.

Crocodiles bask on sandbanks along the rivers, while deeper sections of the water are populated by densely packed herds of hippos. The seemingly endless plains are punctuated here and there by individual "kopjes"— smooth, polished granite hills. As evening descends upon the savanna, an eventful day comes to a close with a refreshing sundowner cocktail. Overlooking the savanna bathed in warm, golden light, you listen to the sounds of the approaching African night

Day 8: Ngorongoro

In the morning you will take a game drive through the Serengeti and onward journey to the Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoon game drive in the crater. In this "Garden of Eden," a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978, you have a good chance of spotting all of the famous "Big Five." Besides elephants, buffalo, leopards, and numerous lions, the crater is also home to more than twenty rhinos. These share the relatively small area of just 260 square kilometers with countless wildebeest, antelopes, zebras, and almost all other representatives of East African wildlife

Days 9 & 10: Tarangire

Game drive in Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees dominate the landscape and create a magnificent backdrop. The Tarangire River and the wetlands in the southern part of the park attract a variety of wildlife during the dry season. Large herds of elephants, for which Tarangire is famous, are particularly abundant at this time.

Day 11: Tarangire & Arusha

Another game drive in Tarangire National Park. In the afternoon, return to the lodge near Arusha.

Days 12, 13, 14 & 15: Zanzibar

Transfer to Arusha Airport. Flight to Zanzibar. Pickup at airport for transfer to your accommodation which you can choose from and where you will spend 3 nights on half board basis in a garden room. Activities can be booked at the hotel at your own expense.

Day 16: Back Home

Today you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your return flight and back to Europe.
