Days 2, 3 & 4: Murchison Falls
After breakfast, meet your professional driver/guide at 7:30 AM and embark on an exciting journey towards Murchison Falls National Park. En route, you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. Accompanied by a ranger, you'll walk through the savannah to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Continue your drive towards Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and mostdiverse wildlife reserve. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, settle in, and enjoy the scenic views of the Nile River winding through the park.
Wake up early the next day for a thrilling morning game drive across the savannah. With your experienced guide, explore the northern sector of the park, home to abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and various antelope species. Keep an eye out for predators lurking in the tall grass! After lunch, embark on a boat safari on the Nile, one of the park’s highlights. This breathtaking experience takes you along the river, where you'll see hippos, crocodiles, and an incredible array of bird species. The boat will take you to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge, creating a powerful waterfall. The sight and sound of the crashing water is unforgettable!
Another action-packed day in Murchison Falls National Park! Enjoy a second morning game drive to spot more wildlife and perhaps some elusive species you may have missed on the previous day. In the afternoon, visit the Top of the Falls, where you’ll witness the sheer force of the Nile as it crashes down a 43-meter drop. The panoramic views from here are spectacular, making for amazing photo opportunities.
Days 5 & 6: Kibale Forest
After breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park, a lush rainforest teeming with primates. The drive takes you through breathtaking scenery, from rolling hills to picturesque tea plantations. Upon arrival, take part in the Bigodi Swamp Walk, a community-led eco-tourism initiative. This guided walk introduces you to the region’s diverse flora and fauna, including various monkey species and colorful birds.
One of the most exhilarating experiences of your trip awaits – chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest! Accompanied by a professional ranger, venture deep into the jungle in search of these intelligent primates. Once you locate a group, spend an hour observing theirbehaviors, playful interactions, and social hierarchy. After the trek, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at your lodge, soaking in the serene atmosphere of the rainforest.
