Days 1 & 2 - Accra

On this day you will be leaving Europe and via one of the big hubs you fly to Accra. Most flights will be daytime so you will arrive on the same day in the evening.

 

Akwaaba! Your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you straight to your hotel where you can have dinner (depending on your arrival time) and take some rest.

The following day after breakfast you will embark on a city tour of Accra visiting various places of historical and cultural interests. Your guide will suggest different sites and then adjust the schedule according to what you are most interested in before you return to the hotel for dinner or you can have dinner out in town.

Day 3 - Ho

Today you will leave the busy city and in around 4 hours drive to the Volta Region and one of its major towns named Ho. You will take a Hike to the top of Ghana’s second highest mountain and enjoy a canopy walk across the Ote Waterfalls. 

After this you return to your hotel to have dinner and rest.

Days 4 & 5 - Nkwanta

After breakfast you will drive another 4 hours to the town of Nkwanta where you will visit the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Wli Waterfalls before checking into your hotel for the next 2 nights. 

 

On the second day in the same area you will visit The Hanging village of Shairi, a picturesque village located on the side of a hill. Spend the day in the village to share experiences and ideas with the locals.

Days 6 & 7 - Bolgatanga

Today is one of the longer days on the road and in about 6-7 hours you travel to Bolgatanga with stop en-route for a walking tour of Yendi, the capital of the Dagomba State. This was part of a 19th century German settlement. 

 

Once arrived you will visit the Bolgatanga Market and bargain for renowned straw hats, baskets, leather goods, metal goods, and traditional clothing in a northern market that is a part of the historic trans-Saharan trade routes. 

 

The next day you visit Sirigu for a tour of the decorative houses and crafts emporium before you proceed to visit the village of Tengzug and its Tongo Hills, a rocky granite outcrop rising from the savannas, are one of the most important cultural sites in West Africa.

Days 8 & 9 - Mole NP

After breakfast you hit the road and go back South to enjoy a city tour of Tamale and before you continue to Mole National Park. Total drive time will be 5 to 6 hours.

 

The next day you will take part in an early morning game drive in the Mole National Park. In the afternoon you will visit Larabanga Mosque and Mognori Eco Village. When back at the lodge you will embark on a late afternoon game viewing in the Mole National Park. Breakfast included.

Days 10 & 11 - Kumasi

After breakfast you will travel in about 7 hours to Kumasi to visit some few Asante Craft villages before checking into your hotel for the next 2 nights. 

 

The next day you will enjoy a city tour of Kumasi to give you a deeper inside into the fascinating Ashanti Culture.

Days 12 & 13 - Elmina

Today after breakfast you will leave to your last destination in Ghana which will be Elmina which lies in the Central Region to visit the historical Elmina and Cape Coast Castles. The Rest of day is free to relax on the beach or enjoy the hotel facilities. 

 

On your second day you will visit the Kakum National Park. Once more the rest of day is free to relax at a beach or stay at the hotel and enjoy.

Day 14 - Return Home

Today marks your last day in Ghana. The drive time is around 3-4 hours from Elimina so depending on what you want to do you may leave a little earlier or a little later. Back in Accra you can do some last minute shopping before you are transferred back to the Accra Airport for departure back home which will be an overnight flight.
