A transfer will collect you from nDzuti and take you into the neighbouring reserve – the world-famous Timbavati! Here you will embark on an adventure of a lifetime: a walking safari. Guided and hosted by a South African wildlife photographer, you will go for three days with the beat of the bush. You will be walking mostly, but there is a vehicle available for drives and night drives as well. The camp is small, exclusive and basic, and will have no fences. Animals will roam freely in- and out of camp, but will be kept at bay at night by lights and fires. You sleep in small dome tents with mattresses and bedding etc provided, and there are a bush loo and open-air showers for which water can be heated. All cooking is done on the fire. The aim during this safari is to go slow, to fully immerse yourselves in nature, and to go with her flow. Your hair will smell of smoke and your fingernails will get dirty, but you will experience a journey of the soul, one that you will never forget.

This morning you will be taken back to the airport, where you fly down to Cape Town (excluded). Here you collect your rental car and head to your accommodation for the next four nights. The Walden House is situated in Tamboerskloof, on the slope towards Signal Hill, and from here it will be easy to navigate your way around Cape Town and surroundings. There is so much to do and see (Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Kloof and Long Streets, Green Market Square, V&A Waterfront, Camp's Bay, Cape Point, Boulder's Beach Penguins, Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak Drive, Groot Constantia etc etc), that you will find that even 4 nights is not enough.

Overnight: four nights at the Walden House, including breakfast

27/05/2016 - Stellenbosch

A visit to the Cape is not complete without a visit or a stay to the Winelands. Stellenbosch is South Africa's second oldest town, and definitely one of the prettiest. Almost all the buildings are national monuments, and Hawksmoor House is no different. Situated on a private farm about 10 mins from Stellenbosch, this beautiful restored Cape Dutch farmstead looks out over winefields and Table Mountain, and offers fabulous wines and romantic rooms.

Overnight: one night at Hawksmoor House, including breakfast

At a designated meeting point you will leave your car and meet a guide from Mkhaya Game Reserve. You spend the night at the beautiful Stone Camp, and enjoy a wonderful afternoon and morning game drive. The bush here is very different from Kruger, and the reserve is well-known for its black rhino population, most likely a specie you have not see yet.

24/05/2016 - St Lucia

After your morning drive and breakfast you will be returned to your vehicle around 10 am, and you proceed through the sugar cane field back to the South African border. Here you cross the historically notorious KwaZulu Natal, and head for the coast. The small but lively town of St Lucia has a lot to offer, such as boat trips on the ocean and the estuary, walks and the nearby Hluhluwe Imfolozi game reserve. You spend the night at Lodge Afrique in town, within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Overnight: one night at Lodge Afrique, including breakfast

25/05/2016 - 27/05/2016 - Royal Natal National Park

Today is a long drive through the Natal Midlands to the most beautiful section of the Drakensberg: Royal Natal National Park. Upper Thendele Camp has the most magnificent views of the famous Amphitheatre, and the next two days you will have time to enjoy some of the most stunnings walks in South Africa (We can especially recommend the Tugela Gorge hike, which takes about 6 hours). Overnight: three nights in Upper Thendele on a self-catering basis
