Days 1 & 2 - Johannesburg
On arrival at OR Tambo you will be met by a representative and transferred to your guesthouse in Melville. This trendy and suburban area in Johannesburg is safe to walk around in and has numerous galleries, shops, restaurants and eateries. The guesthouse itself is situated close to the famous '7de Laan' which features in a South African soap series and has its own restaurant, rated as the best in Melville! You have a Pool Suite here for two nights with breakfast included.
The following day after breakfast you will be collected by your guide for the day and taken to the most famous township in Africa: Soweto. Together with a local guide you will explore all that Soweto has to offer on a Tuk Tuk Tour, and after a traditional lunch (included) you head towards the impressive Apartheid Museum. At the end of the day you are returned to your guesthouse.
Days 6, 7 & 8 - Balule
Your next three nights will be spent in another reserve, Balule Private Nature Reserve, at Sausage Tree Tented Safari Camp. This lovely owner-run tented camp offers luxury camping (tents have ensuite bathrooms and even aircon!), homestyle meals and a great vibe in which to celebrate all that the bush has to offer! Two guided game drives per day included, as well as meals.

The distance between the two camps being reasonably short (about 1,5 h drive) it is very interesting that both landscapes are completely different. So are the animal sightings so make sure to keep your camera ready at all times!
Days 3, 4 & 5 - Timbavati
Your guesthouse will drive you back to the airport, where you collect your rental car (from the airport navigation is a lot easier) and head down into the Lowveld to Kruger National Park. Here you will spend your first three nights in the famous Timabavi Private Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Well-known for its scrumptious food, superb Shangaan trackers and excellent game viewing, your time at Umlani Bush Camp, a Fair Trade establishment, will be a real treat, and if you're lucky you may also catch a glimpse of the White Lions that make this reserve so famous. Each day you head out on two guided game drives in open 4x4 game viewers in search of not only the Big Five, but everything that makes the Great Circle of Life in the bushveld of Kruger so complex. Guided bush walks can be requested, as well as an overnight in their hide at the dam. All meals are included as well as local drinks.

Day 9 - Panoramic Route
The Blyde River Canyon lies on Kruger's doorstep, so en route back to Joburg a stop along the way is a real treat, especially at the super romantic Tanamera Lodge! You will drive the famous Panorama Route to Sabie, where you will stay the night in a Luxury Chalet with river view, and dinner and breakfast are included.

Discover some of the many waterfalls, Bourke's Luck potholes or the more than stunning Blyde River Canyon. Walk up to the tropical rainforest at God's Window or visit the abandoned gold miners town of Pilgrim's Rest.

Days 10 & 11 - Wellington
After breakfast you head back to Johannesburg, from where you fly to the Mother City, Cape Town! Here you collect your second rental car and head straight into the Cape Winelands. Your accommodation is a beautiful wine farm most stunningly situated with 360 degree views of rolling vineyards, orchards and gracious mountains, and your Vine Garden Suite is a stand alone suite with its own private jacuzzi. The farm's own bistro is perfect for providing wine tastings, lunches at your suite or around the pool and romantic dinners at night. An excellent base to explore from or to just live life as it was intended – in the slow lane.
The following day after breakfast your own private Wine Lord will collect you for a full day of wine explorations to several famous and not-so-famous wine farms for wine tastings and pairings, and a traditional braai (bbq) is provided for lunch. You will return to your guesthouse in the afternoon.
Day 12 - Hermanus
Between July and the end of November several types of whales move along the south coast of South Africa to calve and nurse their young, and Hermanus is a particular hot spot where they come exceptionally close to the shore. Schulphoek lies on the Bay and your Scallop Suite has the most sensational views in Hermanus. If the whales are there, you will get to see them from your suite! The guesthouse also has an excellent restaurant and wine selection. A night of splashing out that will be worth it!

Days 13, 14, 15 & 16 - Cape Town / Camps Bay
Time to head back to the Fairest of Capes to explore the rest of this magnificent city and surroundings! Your base will be Camps Bay, the St Tropez of South Africa, with its lovely boulevard with little restaurants and bars. Bay Atlantic Guesthouse has beautiful views of the ocean, is within walking distance of the beach and boulevard but far enough to not experience noise disturbances. Your Atlantic Room on the first floor has breathtaking views of the beach and the Twelve Apostles mountains.
