A tour which stays in the South of Ghana along the shores of the Gulf of Guinea.
Since most airlines from overseas land in the evening, the activities will have to be nocturnal. A member of our Trouver Services crew will welcome you at Accra Kotoka Airport and bring you to your hotel and check you in. Further activities will be organized to your convenience and can consist of a dinner at your hotel, dinner at a restaurant of your choice and/or going to some of the many bars, pubs or nightclubs to get you an insight of Accra’s pulsing nightlife!
After breakfast at your hotel you will be taken onto a sightseeing tour of Accra in the morning. After this you will have lunch at a beachside restaurant where you will have the possibility to try some of the local dishes as well as continental food for the less adventurous. In the afternoon your guide will be taking you to the Accra Art Center where you can buy souvenirs such as masks, carvings and traditional cloth. The rest of the afternoon will be free for other activities or you can simply cool down in your hotel’s swimming pool. In the evening you can again have dinner at your hotel or at a restaurant of your choice.
In the morning you will be taken on the 2 hour drive to Cape Coast. Here you will be taken on a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Cape Coast Castle, one of the main hubs of the slave trade. After this visit you will be taken to your hotel to relax at the beach. Other activities can be organized to your convenience.
After breakfast you will be taken on the canopy walkway in Kakum National Park which will take you up to 40 m high into the tree tops of a tropical rainforest. A ranger will lead you and give you explanations about the ecosystem before you conquer the 7 bridges of the canopy walkway. From here you will continue to another UNESCO World Heritage Site the Elmina Castle. Despite it being close to Cape Coast Castle both Castles have their unique aspects and the guide will tell you the story of this other important slave trade hub. From here your journey will continue to Busua Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Ghana. Here you can enjoy the terrific seafood and the beach or several other activities such as paddling to Nzulezu, visiting the tropical rainforest of Ankasa, visiting some of the many forts of the Western Region can be organized to your convenience.
From Busua Beach you will be taken to a remote beach close to Dixcove. Here you will just enjoy the wonderful food and the quietness of a beach as the only noise you will hear is the ocean. Depending on the season you will be able to see the sea turtles lay their eggs on the very same beach.
After enjoying your last breakfast of the trip you will hit the road back to Accra where our guide will make sure you are at the airport on time.
