Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park offer fantastic game viewing – and if you prefer less people, it’s definitely a great combination of pristine wildlife area. We can tailor-make any combinations, but have put together a great itinerary, flying on internal flights from Dar to Selous, then on to Ruaha – with a total of seven days to explore these beautiful areas. Some of the typical animals of the savannah (for example elephants, hippos, African Wild Dog, Cape buffalo and crocodiles) can be found in this park in larger numbers than in any other African game reserve or national park. Selous is crossed by the Rufiji River - which winds its way majestically through the reserve all year round, offers wild, rugged plains which are home to everything from hot volcanic springs, over 90 meter deep gorges and some lakes to vast wooded escarpments and dry savannahs – plus of course a massive rand of wildlife!
The safari camps selected are well located, and your hosts are passionate about Africa and all it has to offer. You will enjoy game viewing activities by vehicle, in Selous by boat on the great Rufiji River, and if you are keen to walk this can also be organised by prior arrangement at either place. Game drives are undertaken in open vehicles.
