Your African experience starts here
Days 1, 2 & 3 - Cape Town
Upon arrival in Cape Town you will be transferred to your accommodation which is in walking distance to the City Centre. You will spend 3 nights here with breakfast and there are a lot of things to do, from sightseeing to culinary highlights and from penguins to the closeby winelands, everything is in reach of the Mother City.
Your hosts at the lodge will gladly assist you with the booking of these activities if you need help.
Days 5 & 6 - Fish River Canyon
From here you enter Namibia at Vioolsdrif and drive through the Richtersfeld to the Fish River Canyon which is the largest canyon in Africa. Namibia is a fascinating country and very different from the rest of Southern Africa. The Namib-Naukluft National Park encompasses part of the Namib Desert (considered the world's oldest desert) and the Naukluft mountain range. With an overall area of 49768 km2 the Namib-Naukluft is the largest game park in Africa and the fourth largest in the world.
Right from the moment you enter Namibia up to Twyfelfontein (Day 12) you will be in and around this massive park! You will spend your first two nights at Canyon Village with sweeping views of its ancient surroundings, breakfast included. It is only about 20 km from the viewpoints of Fish River Canyon which makes it great for a short drive on the second day and enjoy this fascinating landscapes.
Day 4 - Springbok
Today you are transferred back to Cape Town International Airport where you make your way to the car rental department right at the airport where you will pick up your group R (Nissan X-Trail or similar) rental car. After 3 nights in the Cape it is time to start the big adventure. In around 6 hours you make your way up North through the Western and Northern Cape into the middle of the Namaqualand.
Depending on the season (End August / September) of your holiday the area might be covered by a carpet of the brightest flowers. You will spend one night at the Naries Namakwa Manor House which includes breakfast and dinner.

Days 7 & 8 - Aus
Today you head further north into the Namib-Naukluft. A lot of people skip the area around Aus but those who go actually believe it is one of the most beautiful parts of Namibia.
You will stay here for two nights which will give you the possibility of visiting Luderitz on the coast, the ghost town of Kolmanskop and hopefully get a glimpse of Namibia's wild horses which make Aus so famous. You will overnight with breakfast in a chalet at Eagle's Nest which offers views that take your breath away.

Days 18, 19 & 20 - Okavango
Today you head southwards for the first time in this trip into Botswana and drive along the western border of the Okavango Delta towards Maun where you will need to be before noon (12 pm) so make sure you don't leave too late. At Maun airport you drop off your rental car which will no longer be needed and your privately guided adventure will start! Tick off multiple destinations, fantastic game viewing, close encounters and varied activities. Expect to be comfortable with the essentials and without the luxurious frills.
Your hosts and guides will go out of their way to make your experience unforgettable taking on the bulk of hard work that goes hand in hand with camping. The itinerary itself is quite flexible but will lead you into Moremi and the Delta. All meals and game viewing activities (walks, drives, mokoro and boating) are included as well as teas, coffees and return airport transfers from Maun.

Days 16 & 17 - Divundu
From Namutoni you will head east into the Caprivi Strip where Ndhovu Safari Lodge is situated where the Okavango River enters the Okavango Delta. On this wide section of the river you can enjoy boat cruises in search of elephants and hippos or you can join one of their game drives into the surrounding parks.
After the long drive you will spend 2 nights here with breakfast to prepare yourself for the safari in the Delta.
Days 13, 14 & 15 - Etosha
After a lot of stunning lanscapes it is time to go on safari! In about 2 1/2 hours you make your way to Etosha National Park which is famous for its enormous saltpan in the middle and its surrounding waterholes visited by hundreds of animals every day.
You overnight at camps inside the park from the West to the East - Okaukuejo, Halali and Namutoni - making it easy to follow the roads along the waterholes without having to drive the same way back to the camp(s). You will overnight in chalets with breakfast.
Day 12 - Twifelfontein
Today you head into Damaraland, the part of Namibia which is famous for its rolling pink hills, massive socialble weaver nests, Bushmen engravings and of course the elusive Desert Elephants.
You will stay one night at the Ugab Terrace Lodge which certainly offers the best view in this region, breakfast and dinner included. You can visit Twyfelfontein on your way to the lodge.
Days 9 & 10 - Sossusvlei
Still going north you enter the Sesriem / Sossusvlei region, Namibia's most visited area. Said to be the oldest desert in the world it certainly is the most impressive. The way elephants can humble you in the bush with their size and silent gentleness, so does this natural, massive sea of sand make you stand in awe of its age (almost as old as the Earth itself!) and beauty!
You will spend 2 nights at the Desert Camp which is only a few kilometers from the gate into the park making sunset and sunrise trips easy to undertake. Breakfast is included and a large number of activities can be booked at the lodge.
Day 11 - Swakopmund
After 7 days in more arid regions you make your way to the coast to the town of Swakopmund which is a small little town with a German feel to it. It offers a lot of fun activities such as skydiving, dune boarding and ocean trips.
If you really want to do some of it we suggest to plan a second day here. You will spend one night (or two for the more adventurous) with breakfast at the Sandfields Guesthouse.
